James P. was born on February 5th, 1810 in Rutherford Co., TN.1   James P.'s father was William Todd and his mother was Jane Douglas. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John B., William, Alexander, William M., Levi W., Walker, Elizabeth, Unknown and Unknown.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 55 on December 19th, 1865 in St. Clair Co., MO.1
