Duke W. was born on March 3rd, 1844.1   Duke W.'s father was Nathaniel Baxter Terry and his mother was Lucinda Srygley.  His paternal grandparents were William T. Terry and Elizabeth Wadlington. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph William, Samuel Shelton, Peter A., Mary D. and Sarah Baxter.  He was the third oldest of the six children.1
