George was born on May 3rd, 1790 in Orange Co., N. C..1 George's father was James Tate and his mother was Margaret Nelson. His paternal grandfather was George Tate; his maternal grandparents were David Nelson and Isabel Craig. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Samuel Nelson, David, James, Elizabeth, Jane, Katie and Margaret. He died at the age of 63 on July 19th, 1853 in Orange Co., N. C..1 -
