1   John's father was John Strong and his mother was Unknown.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Strong and Eleanor Deane. He had ten half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named John, John, Jedediah, Thomas, Josiah, Ebenezer, Joseph, Samuel, Jerijah, Return, Infant, Abigail, Experience, Mary, Sarah, Hannah, Hester, Thankful and Elizabeth.1
