1   John Wesley's father was William Spaid and his mother was Elizabeth Secrest.  His paternal grandparents were George Nicholas Spaid(Spaht) and Elizabeth Cale. He had five brothers and four sisters, named David Tules, George, Jacob, Michael Luther, William Harrison, Mary Spaid, (Infant), Barbara Spaid and Margaret Spaid.1
