Jacob was born in 1764 in Shenandoah Co, Va.1   Jacob's father was Lawrence Snapp and his mother was Margaret.  His paternal grandparents were Johannes Schnepf and Barbara. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Lawrence, Peter, John, Philip, Joseph, Abraham, Margaret, Susannah and Christina.  He died at the age of 83 in 1847 in Shenandoah Co, Va.1
