Julia A. Smith 
Julia A. was born on August 9th, 1841 in Hartford, CT.1 Julia A.'s father was Lyman Smith and her mother was Sarah A. Alvord. Her paternal grandparents were Reuben Smith and Anne Brewer; her maternal grandparents were Ashbel Alvord and Mary Jacobs. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Lyman, Henry C., Kate, Catherine Elizabeth, Sarah, Julia, Sarah Ann and Mary Jane. She died due to Cerebral Hemorrage at the age of 75 on May 11th, 1917 in Boston, MA (Dorchester).1 General Notes

-The following obituary appeared in The Penny Press in Middletown, CT dated Monday Evening, 14 May 1917:
"Mrs. Julia A. Chaffee widow of the late Stephan B. Chafee of this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Larkin, in Dorchester, Mass. May 11th following a short illness resulting from a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Chaffee before her marriage to Mr. Chaffee was Mrs. Benjamin F. Douglas of South Farms Middletown. Besides her daughter with whom she made her home she is survived by a son Howard Douglas. The funeral services were held in Dorchester Mass. Sunday afternoon and the body was brought to Hartford today for interment."
