Eliza was born on December 8th, 1806 in Grantham, Sullivan Co., NH.1   Eliza's father was Ebenezer Smith and her mother was Damoras Darling. She had two brothers and a sister, named James, Timothy and Abigail.  She was the oldest of the four children.1
