Mary's father was Robert Soutter Sinclair and her mother was Ethel Heywood.  Her maternal grandparents were Sidney Solyman Heywood and Mary Adelaid Lyman. She had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas Gibson, Carol and Elsie. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Living, Living, Living and Living.
