Ruth was born on August 11th, 1789 in Boyd'S, Montgomery Co, MD.1   Ruth's father was James Simmons and her mother was Rebecca Scheckell.  Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Simmons and Abigail Unknown; her maternal grandfather was Scheckell.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 74 on March 11th, 1864 in Md Or Ky.  She was buried in Monocacy Cem, , , MD.1 1
