Jane was born about 1600 in Ashford, Bakewell, Derbyshire, England.1 Jane's father was Arthur Sheldon. Her paternal grandfather was Roger Sheldon. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Ralph, Arthur, John, Mary, Ann and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the seven children. Jane is no longer alive.1 General Notes
