Joseph was born on November 1st, 1681.1   Joseph's father was Benjamin Shaw and his mother was Esther Richardson.  His paternal grandparents were Roger Shaw and Ann Unknown. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Benjamin, Roger, Edward, John, Mary, Esther, Sarah, Abigail, Ruth and Hannah.1
