Melville Plasca was born on May 1st, 1863 in Geurnsey Co., Ohio.¹ Melville Plasca's father was Michael Secrest and his mother was Elizabeth Hartop. His paternal grandparents were Henry Secrest and Elizabeth Spaid; his maternal grandparents were James Hartop and Eleanor Glasner. He had a brother and a sister, named James Hudson and Mary Louella Frances. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Joshua Hunt, David Elwood, Samuel Filmore, Rebecca Elizabeth, Rachel Marie and Amanda Melissa.¹
