Syntha was born in 1848 in Morgan, Tennessee.1   Syntha's father was John B Sandusky and her mother was Elizabeth Parker.  Her paternal grandfather was Sandusky; her maternal grandparents were James Washington Parker and Nancy Miller. She had a sister named Nancy.  She was the younger of the two children.1
