Mathew J was born on August 23rd, 1711 in Lyme, New London, CT.1 Mathew J's father was Joseph Ransom and his mother was Jane. His paternal grandparents were Mathew Ransom and Hannah Jones. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Stephen, Mary, Jane, Phebe and Catherine. He died at the age of 49 on October 5th, 1760 in Cattaraugus, NY.1 General Notes
