John was born about 1634 in Charlestown, Massachusetts.1   John's father was Thomas Pierce and his mother was Elizabeth. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Samuel, Robert, Elizabeth, Mary, Persis and Abigail.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died in 1666 in England.1
