Homer Root Phelps 
Homer Root was born on April 13th, 1785 in Hebron, Tolland, CT.1 Homer Root's father was Homer Phelps and his mother was Adah Root. His paternal grandparents were Joshua Phelps and Hannah Tarbox; his maternal grandparents were William Root and Zeruiah Baldwin. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Homer, Henry, Horace, William H., Adah, Anna, Lura, Zemiah, Abigail and Eliza. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 76 on October 3rd, 1861.1 -
