Joel Owen 
Joel was born on September 4th, 1766 in Lebanon, CT.1 Joel's father was Caleb Owen and his mother was Priscilla Throope. His paternal grandparents were Caleb Owen and Elizabeth Brewster; his maternal grandparents were William Throope and Elizabeth Stansbury. He had two sisters named Esther and Martha. He was the youngest of the three children. He died about 1805 in Northumberland, Coos County, NH.1 General Notes

FIFTH GENERATION
Joel Owen [5] (Caleb [4], Caleb [3], Joseph [2], John [1]), son of Caleb and Priscilla (Throope) Owen, was born at Lebanon, CT, September 4, 1766 and died ca. 1805 at Northumberland, Coos County, NH. In 1787 he lived at Halifax, VT
He married (1) at Spencer, Worchester County, MA, December 20, 1878, Molly Livermore, daughter of Joseph (John) 1740-1823 and Anna (Rice) Livermore, who was born April 20, 1766, at East Sudbury, Middlesex County, MA; (2) after 1790, at Hartford, Windsor County, VT, Mary Gillett.
His name is listed in the 1790 U.W. Census for Halifax Township, Windham County, VT, thus: 1-2-1-0 (ie. Joel, two sons under 16, and his wife).
Sometime after 1790 he removed to Northumberland, Coos County, NH where he became a county merchant.
