Malinda was born about 1824.1   Malinda's father was Ira Nicholson and her mother was Jane Palmour. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Evan, William, Silas, Baylus, Bailey, Martha, Myra, Sarah, Polly, Jane and Harriett.  She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.1
