Living's father was George Erie Metivier and her mother was Albertina Martineau. Her paternal grandparents were William Henry Metivier and Louisa A. Lapine; her maternal grandparents were Charles Martineau and Florence Rabindeau. She had two brothers and a sister, named Living, Living and Living.
