Amzi was born about 1820. Amzi's father was Elias B. McNamee and her mother was Mary Delaney. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac McNamee and Margaret Lewellin. She had a brother and a sister, named Elias B. and Sarah A.. She was the oldest of the three children.-
