Edward was born in 1545 in Ramsey, Essex, , England.1 Edward's father was Reinold Mervyn and his mother was Johan Unknown. His paternal grandfather was John Mervyn. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Richard, John, Ayire, Margery, Audre, Audrey, Barbara and Margaret. He died at the age of 70 on November 15th, 1615 in Great Bentley, co Essex, England. He was buried on November 15th, 1615 in St.Mary's Church, Great Bentley, co. Essex.2 2 General Notes

Marvin, Mervyn, Marven are variations of the spelling of the name
Was under-age in 1554. Owned many lands and tenements and resided the latter part of his life in a mansion house called "Edons als Dreybrocks" in Great Bentley. His widow Margaret survived him. She may not have been mother of all his children, but probably was mother at least of his youngest child Matthew. Order of children uncertain.[3084.ftw]
