George David Littlejohn 
George David was born on June 8th, 1828 in Frederick, MD and his baptism took place on June 26th, 1828 in Ger Ref Ch, Frederick, MD.1 George David's father was George Walbert Littlejohn and his mother was Elizabeth Geisinger. His paternal grandparents were George Littlejohn and Theresa W; his maternal grandparents were Frantz Geisinger and Sarah Levi. He had four brothers and two sisters, named David A, William Peter, Francis G, Charles, Jane E and Elizabeth Teresa. He was the youngest of the seven children.1 General Notes

Baltimore's last canalers were..George Littlejohn...had a aried career of canal
life, worked freight boats fr 15th yr, 3 yrs udner ricahrd Paul on state boat
then in charge of THE STAR hauling butter eggs, etc. to Col. Littlejohn hauled
sandstone from Lancaster from Pleasant VAlley UB Ch and the girder fr Col for
the same church...helpted build gates of locks Buckeye Planing Mill. ...hauled
25 cent wheat to Celveland and ret with cheese and white pine, climbing the 21
locks into Akron. Made trip to DResden Sidecut and down Musk to Zville....
