Her paternal grandparents were William Lewis and Margaret Sturr. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John Jacob, George Franklin, William Oliver, Joseph Charles, Herman Frederick, Mary Sophronia and Anna Amy. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.1 -
