Rhoda E. was born on March 15th, 1860 in Scott, Tennessee.1   Rhoda E.'s father was Walter Davis Lewallen and her mother was Anna Browne Or Brown. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named Andrew R., John Granville, Samuel Anderson, William Jasper, Joseph B, Levi Wayne, James D., Absolom Franklin, Henry W., Nancy Malinda, Mary Ann (Polly) and Cynthia Jane.  She was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.1
