¹ James' father was Hendrick Lent and his mother was Catherine Croft. His maternal grandparents were John Croft and Mary Bowman. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Abraham, Joeseph, Richard, Eleanor, Katie, Margaret and Polly.¹
