William H. was born about 1845 in Screven Co., GA.1 William H.'s father was David B. Lee and his mother was Sarah Jane Beard. His paternal grandparents were John Lee and Rachel Maner; his maternal grandparents were John Beard and Susan Harris. He had three brothers and six sisters, named James Robert, John Clifford, Henry Stafford, Frances Amanda, Georgia A., Susan E., Lucinda Elizabeth, Eliza Rebecca and Ellen R.. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.1 -
