MIDDLETON/BLUE MOUNDS--Mrs. Thelma Grob, Age 84, of Blue Mounds and
formerly of rural Middleton died on Friday December 5, at a Mt. Horeb
nursing home after a brief illness. The former Thelma Lappley was born
on November 20, 1896 in the town of Spingfield. She was married to Louis
F. Grob on September 29, 1914. The couple had lived and farmed on the
Old Sauk Road in the town of Middleton until Mr. Grob's death in 1958.
Since that time she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law near
Blue Mounds. She was a former member of the Middleton Community Church
and was a member of the Middleton Eastern Star Melody Chapter, Number
150. Survivors included two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Delores) Mahoney of
Blue Mounds and Mrs. LaVern (Shirley) Storkson, of Madison; two sons,
Frank of Oxford and James of Cross Plains; a daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Frederick (Ann) Groab of Madison; 15 grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Frederick on March
22, 1977. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday December
8, at the GRUBER FUNERAL HOME, 7432 Elmwood Avenue, Middleton. Rev.
Linus Wierwell will officate. Burial will be in Valley Home Cemetary,
Cross Plains. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. on Sunday, December 7, at
the funeral home where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7 P.M. on
Sunday.
