Ruhama was born in 1795 in ,,Maine.1   Ruhama's father was Joseph Lancaster and her mother was Martha Preble.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Lancaster and Hannah Bubier; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Preble and Mary Hodgkins.  She was an only child.
