John King, Jr. (1629-1703) came from Northampton, England to Hartford, Conn in 1645, then removed to Northampton, Mass in 1655. Lt. and Capt. in the Northampton forces, deputy to the General Court. John was a son of John King of Boyle, Ireland, who was secretary for Ireland under the reign of Queen Elizabeth. He was a grandson of Rev and Bishop Edward King, first archbishop of Ireland after the Reformation.
