Benjamin Kerns 
Benjamin was born on January 27th, 1804 in Ross Co., Ohio.1 Benjamin's father was Benjamin Kerns and his mother was Sarah Winder. His paternal grandfather was David Kerns; his maternal grandparents were John R. Winder and Margaret Unknown. He had three brothers named Peter, Abner and Henry. He died at the age of 61 in 1865 in Marion Co., Ohio.1 General Notes

Tombstone inscription shows Benjamin Kerns and Sarah Winder as his parents.
Benjamin rebuilt one of Marion's four hotels sometime between 1837 and 1854. This hotel was kept by General Clark, who died of Cholera 1854. It burned down in 1859.
