Laura A. was born in January 1869 in Screven Co., GA.¹ Laura A.'s father was Thomas Joyner and her mother was Elizabeth Dickey. Her paternal grandparents were William Joyner and Clary Bragg; her maternal grandparents were Patrick Dickey and Sally. She had four brothers and a sister, named E., John S., Jackson, Lee and J.. She was the second oldest of the six children.¹
