John was born on June 14th, 1678.1   John's father was Francis Jenness and his mother was Hannah Swaine.  His maternal grandparents were William Swayne and Prudence Marston. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Hezekiah, Richard, Thomas, Mehitabel, Hannah and Eleanor.1
