Obituary for Elizabeth Ethel Baldwin
Funeral Services for Elizabeth Ethel Baldwin who died Saturday evening at Sturgis Hospital were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles T. White officiating and burial was in the Black Hills National Cemetery under the direction of Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Baldwin was born in Hillsboro, KS on September 21, 1900. She attended Hillsboro High School and was married to Ivan Baldwin in Florence, KS on October 6, 1917. After their marriage they resided in Westmoreland, KS until they moved to California. In 1930 they moved to Sturgis where she joined the Presbyterian Church in 1937.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carmelita Lou Bell of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Lena Michaelis of Santa Maria, California, and three grandchildren, Larry, James, and Janet Bell, two brothers-in-law, Dea Baldwin and Royal Mills, and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Presbyterian Church.
A memorial has been established to the Americal Cancer Society.
