Soloman was born on August 15th, 1814 in Spencer, Mass..1   Soloman's father was Nathan Hill and his mother was Lucy Bennitt.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel Hill and Mary Clark. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Amasa, Lucious, Sarah (Sallie), Lucy, Mary (Polly), Nancy and Cinthia.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 85 on December 15th, 1899.1
