John Higley 
John was born in 1648.1 John's father was Jonathan Higley and his mother was Katherine Brewster. He was an only child. He died before September 30th, 1714 in Simsbury, CT.1 General Notes

On the arrival of the ship off the American coast, she sailed up the Connecticut River to Windsor, the oldest settlement in the Colony of Connecticut, 57 miles from the mouth of the river. Here John Higley, with his own consent, was sold for a term of service- - -Subsequent events point strongly to the fact that his purchaser was John Drake, though the name is not given in the old manuscript, but John Higley was immediately taken into the home of this worthy family, where he worked faithfully for his employer, cleared his entire debt of his passage across the ocean, and having his employer's full confidence, continued in his service for some time after he had attained his majority.
He returned to England to see his mother, made a satisfactory settlement with his former master and then returned to America, and married Hannah Drake, 11-9-1671.
