John Hide 
John was born on November 13th, 1729 in Norwich, CT.1 John's father was John Hyde and his mother was Sarah Haskins. His paternal grandparents were John Hyde and Experience Abel. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Simeon, Levi, Asa, Rufus, Silas, Experience, Mary, Mary, Hannah and Anne. He died in Wilkes Barre, PA.1 General Notes

Though a part of the Norwich, CT Hyde family. John and Mary evidently settled in Canterbury, Ct. for all of their children were born there. No record is found of the date when they migrated to Wyoming County PA but in 1775 John Hyde was living in Wilkes Barre as were his brother, Simeon and Asa. Asa was a Corporal in Capt. Durkee's Co. Capt. Durkee was his sister Mary's husband. John Hyde's name appeared in the Assessment lists in 1778.
