James was born in 1678 in Rockcliffe, Rockdale Par., Lancastershire, Eng..1   James' father was James Haworth and his mother was Isabel. He had a brother and four sisters, named George, Mary, Sarah, Susannah and Isabelle.  He was the second youngest of the six children.1
