Elizabeth was born in June 1885.  Elizabeth's father was Frederick Karl Ludwig Haselhuhn and her mother was Caroline Fisher.  Her paternal grandparents were George Frederick Haselhuhn and Mary Florip. She had three brothers and a sister, named Louis, George, William and Frederick.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
