William P. was born on May 23rd, 1842 in Jackson County, AL..1   William P.'s father was Jesse Hall and his mother was Margaret S. Taylor.  His paternal grandparents were James Hall and Mary P. Williams. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John W., George W., Josiah J., James K., David, Sarah J., Sarah J. and Rachel E..  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  He died  due to chronic hepatiits at the age of 72 on August 14th, 1914 in Springfield, MO..1
