1   Thomas J's father was Instance Hall and his mother was Drusilla Sellers.  His paternal grandparents were Lewis Hall and Nancy Colly. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Instance, James M, Berrien Lewis, Seaborn, Eliza, Mary Ann (Pollie), Nancy, Carolina, Sophia, Sophronia and Drusilla.1
