Catherine Grun

Catherine was born on May 16th, 1744 in Bensheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany.¹ Catherine's father was Leonard Grun and her mother was Anna Maria Ritzinger. Her paternal grandparents were Jois Wendel Grun and Anna Margretha Kelles\Selles; her maternal grandfather was Simon Ritzinger. She had a brother and four sisters, named Joannes Adam, Anna Barbara, Maria Anna, Maria Anne and Maria Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the six children.¹
