Marqutti was born in 1835 in Scott, Tennessee.1   Marqutti's father was Joseph Griffith and her mother was Elizabeth.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Griffith and Savaria Jane [Sorphia]. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Ewel, Hugh L, Columbus, Fernette, Ester, Alunsey and Julie.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died in Scott, Tennessee.1
