!John born ca.1575. Married 1)____;ref:Ancestry of Col.John H Stevens by Mary L.Holman,Concord, 1948."Mr John Gooderich, clotheir, m.in St.James Margery How (Howes) who d.14 Apr-16 May 1632 and was sister to Jone How Coats. He as a clothier and clerk of Robert Draper, a clothier of Bury 1614. The only date we have of the 2 older children, John & William, the Elder is that of William in his matriculation at Cambridge, where in 1634, his age is 17 making him b.1617. In will mentions ch:William, William, John and Jeremy. It is prob. that Jeremy d.soon after his parents. William the Elder was adm. to Caius College, Cambridge, age 17, on 15 Apr 1634, b. Bury St. Edmunds. John and
William the Younger were wards of Clement Chaplin who sailed for N.E. 1635 in "The Elizabeth & Ann", settling Cambridge 23 Nov 1735; rem. 4 Apr ;1636 with Thomas Hooker to Hartford. Sometime prior 1637 joined by wife and his 2 wards.
As John was about 40 when he married Margery How and his son John was probably b. before 1615, he probably had a wife prior to Margery who was mother of his eldest son John. He died a little more than a year after his parents, and his wife soon after, leaving orphaned children. He provided cafefully for them in a long well drawn will.
