Robert was born in Groton, New London, Conn. and his baptism took place on September 16th, 1677.1 2 Robert's father was George Geer and his mother was Sarah Allyn. His paternal grandparents were Johathan Geer and Eleanor Unknown; his maternal grandparents were Robert Allyn and Sarah Unknown. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jonathan, Joseph, Daniel, Isaac, Jeremiah, Mary, Sarah, Hannah, Ann and Margaret.
