John Francis was born about 1870 in Lafayette Co, MO.1 John Francis' father was Ananias Gann and his mother was Sarah Breeze. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Gann and Serena Frazier; his maternal grandparents were Thomas S. Breeze and Elizabeth Spaulding. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James Henry, David Nathan, George Thomas, William Everett, Elizabeth, Ida Ann and Vena May. He was the third oldest of the eight children.1 -
