Thomas Ford (1587-1676) came from Powerstock, County Dorset, England in the 'Mary and John' in 1630, and settled at Dorchester, Mass. He was a freeman in 1631, and a member of the town governing committee in 1633. He moved to Windsor, Conn in 1637, and was a proprietor there. He was a deputy to the General Court from 1637 to 1640, a grand juror in 1643, and he moved to Northampton, Mass in 1660.

ref:Ancient Winsdor II:270Thomas Ford, was past middle life, with adult
families and good estates who joined with Messrs. Maverick and Warham in
England to come in the original company of the MARY & JOHN, 1630 to settle
Dorchester, MA. Freeman at Dorchester 1631; member of original Dorchester
Church. When he moved to Windsor, wife adm. to Church; he was Deputy to CT.
Gen.Court 1637-40; built a hog-park 1639-40, the building of which was delayed
by the nec. of assisting in building the Palisado in town. In 1637, he was one
of those rep. Windsor in the purchase of land now Windsor Locks, from the
Indians. His lot grant, 1637, 16 3/4 rods widw, the N.line being E.of street
and ranging with the Sandy Hill road. He sold before 1648. He was a juror
1643-44. He bought the original Hosford lot of Stephen Talow betw. Denslow and
Pomeroy in 1656 where he resided until his removal to Northampton before 1672,
and prob. at same time with Elder John Strong 1659. A man of good estate,
great energy and a devoted friend of the regicides, Goffe and Whalley;
exchanged his home lot and lands at Windsor 10 Dec 1660 with Edward Elmer in
Northampton. Ford owned large tracts of land by original grants, including
about half of Pine Meadow and most of the site of the present village of
Windsor Locks. He had hundreds of acres granted him on the E.side of the River
and bought many acres from others. In 1668, he gave a conditional bond for
deed of homestead after the death of self and wife to Zerrubabel Filer, if he
should marry Ford's granddau.,Experience STrong; a deed was given by Ford and
Annie his wife 23 Aug 1672, before which date they had probably rem. to
Northampton.
Thomas Ford and John Strong were chosen to be constables 1 Mar 1654. Walter
Fyler, having charged Rev. Mr Strong of Hartford with the breach of the
fundamental law, and upon the Elders in general sin and wickedness, was fined 5
pounds, bound with David Wilton and Thomas Ford in 20 lbs, to appear at next
court. In Jan 1659/60, Thomas paid 6 shillings for a seat in the Meeting House
He d. Northampton 1676; inv. of estate 4 Jan 1676/7 was 369/17/9; est. in
Elder John Strong's hands, 99/15/1; debts due him from Capt A. Cooke 50/0/0;
from Zebulon Filer 20 lbs; from Jedidiah strong 40 lbs. Tatal 369/12/10.
