1   John's father was John Russell Fleming and his mother was Isabella A. Peek.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas W. Peek and Francis Marshall. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Ino (?) R., Thomas W., David C., Edward G., Mary Belle, Anna Peek, Ida E. and Dora Adaline.1
