Simon was born about 1123 in Of, Scotland.1 Simon's father was Alan Fitzflaald and his mother was Avelina De Hesding. His paternal grandparents were Fledaldus Or Flaald Dol and Mrs-Fledaldus Or Flaald Dol; his maternal grandfather was Ernulf De Hesding. He had three brothers named Walter, Jordan and William. He was the youngest of the four children.1 -
