John Doty 
John was born on August 24th, 1668 in Plymouth Co., Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 John's father was John Doty and his mother was Elizabeth Cook. His paternal grandparents were Edward Doty and Faith Clarke; his maternal grandparents were Jacob Cooke and Damaris Hopkins. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Jacob, Isaac, Elisha, Joshiah, Samuell, Martha and Elizabeth. He had three half-sisters named Patience, Desire and Sarah. He died before July 14th, 1747 in Plympton, Massachusetts.1 General Notes

At the March 1719/20 court, John Doty Sr. of Plympton moved that the child of Lydia Jackson, of whom he was the reputed father, be boarded out or the weekly payments abated. No futher record of the child, which was probably an infant at the time, has been found.
The will of John Doty of Plympton, husbandman, dated April 29, 1746, proved July 14, 1747, names wife Hannah; grandson Edward, son of son John; daughter Mehetable Lucas, wife of William; son Jacob Doty; daughter Susanna Finney, wife of John; daughter Lydia Lucas, wife of John; and eldest son John Doty.
The will of Hannah Doty, widow, dated April 14, 1754 names her brothrs Joshua Sherman and Caleb Sherman. Those making oath testified that she died the next day.
